NG SAN SON
Mr Ng San Son is a Senior Associate Director in DP Architects Pte Ltd.
He is also teaches at the National University of Singapore, Department of Architecture on a part-time basis and serves as an advisor in the SAFRA Tampines Executive Committee.
His portfolio includes a wide range of architectural projects of various scale and diverse typology. From the intimate village-like shopping mall in myVillage along Farleigh Avenue to large scale high rise shopping development of Orchard Central, San Son constantly explores how consumerism, architecture and urban issues contradict and complement one another. Religious projects includes the extension of St. Andrew’s Cathedral with a subterranean worship hall that visually connects to the cathedral. Leading a small team of animal lovers, River Safari was completed in 2012 with the inclusion of a panda enclosure and a river boat ride through aviaries and animal enclosures. Ongoing/Completed constructions of DowntownEast Revamp and Changi Civil Service Club add to the resort typology focus as part of an on-going foray in public usage of resort spaces and personal lodgings.
He is always interested in the reinterpretation and reinvention of spaces through users’ adaptation in ways that are different and original, beyond what was initially envisioned.
