Naga is striving from upcoming disasters triggered by climate change and fueled by a population boom due to rapid urbanization. Impacting not only the environment but also the socio-economy part, especially the unprivileged who mostly come from the outsider with less opportunity for a decent life.
Our proposal is aiming to create ascending solution for the most vulnerable people in Naga the unprivileged and the young generation to lavish alongside hazards and improve their livelihood, life source and learning are simultaneously sustainable as we boost their creativity to align and respect nature.
With a radical approach towards behavioral change through evolving the paradigm. The paradigm shifts as a generating realm that could tackle down egocentric lifestyles into eco-centric lifestyles. A paradigm that will allow the society to grow along with restoration and protection of their environment.
The eco-living paradigm will lead the unprivileged into helping and surviving together as a society. Build together the co-sufficient housing reviving the collapsing Bayanihan spirit. Shaping a transformative realm such as the rain garden will mitigate the unprivileged from a distressing typhoon and flood. Instead of building shelter as an escape, the homes are built to survive the disaster and they are afforded through the society build together concept. The eco consume paradigm creates option towards consumption and create a room for sustainable economic turnover with the base of cultivation of several food products, harvesting from typhoon
source such as water and wind energy to fulfill the unprivileged basic need as the adaptation strategy towards the climate change effect.
The eco learning paradigm will allow the unprivileged and young generation to learn through contextual education that aims at nurturing a flexible and creative sustainable resilient city. This is done by creating flexible public spaces that will engage the society towards nourishing and creative practices towards nature.
This storytelling approach will help to engage the young generation and the people of Naga on the importance of the concept of coexisting with nature including the possible affordable ways of surviving disaster as a community as they embrace their culture but increase their flexibility towards climate change effects.
